first_imgAccording to a tweet from NBC‘s longtime live TV mainstay Saturday Night Live, Brooklyn’s enigmatic industrial electronic dance massive LCD Soundsystem will bring their futuristic drum circle to Studio 8H for a guest appearance on the show’s May 6th episode. The episode will be hosted by actor Chris Pine. The announcement comes on the heels of LCD Soundsystem’s hugely successful five-night residency at Brooklyn Steel to celebrate the venue’s opening. During the Brooklyn Steel shows, the band debuted several brand new original songs, “Tonight,” “Call Police,” and “American Dream.” In response to an audience member at the opening night loudly inquiring about the whereabouts of the new album promised by frontman James Murphy when the band reunited last year, Murphy replied with his signature bashful tone–“It took a little longer than we thought it would, we’re sorry about that. But it’s almost done. We promise.”Safe to say, we’ve already set our DVRs for the performance.last_img
