Jitamrit Kashyap and Ishita Kashyap in Indian Karate team

first_imgOur Sports ReporterGUWAHATI: Jitamrit Kashyap and Ishita Kashyap of Assam will represent Indian Karate team for the 18th Cadet, Junior and U-21 Asian Karate Championship which is scheduled to be held at Kata Kinabalu, Malaysia from April 26. Jitamrit and Ishita both won gold medal in the recently concluded Junior National Karate Championship held in Guwahati and the performance helped them to get selected in the Indian Squad. Jitamrit will take part in 70 kg Kumite Cadet (14-15 years) male and Ishita will participate in Cadet Female Kata event. The United Karate-Do Association, Assam (UKAA) felicitated both the players in a meeting held in the city today and also handed over financial assistance of Rs.10000 each from the organization for the Asian Championship.
